Supportive Employment

Our Supportive Employment services are dedicated to providing job opportunities for individuals with various disabilities, including physical disabilities, mental health challenges, and other barriers to employment. We recognize that each individual possesses unique strengths, skills, and aspirations. Our team works closely with participants on the job, providing the necessary support and accommodations to help them succeed in their roles and thrive in the workplace. At PORTCO, we focus on each individual’s abilities and leverage those strengths to match them with suitable jobs and tasks, fostering a fulfilling work experience.

PORTCO Connect

PORTCO Connect is an integral part of PORTCO’s mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) through meaningful employment opportunities in the Hampton Roads area. This program focuses on providing specialized training and support tailored to the unique needs of each participant.

Within PORTCO Connect, individuals engage in job placements at various contract sites, where they receive hands-on experience in a structured and supportive environment. Our dedicated team offers ongoing assistance, ensuring that participants can develop essential skills, build confidence, and thrive in their roles. By fostering an inclusive workplace, PORTCO Connect not only enhances the lives of individuals with I/DD but also contributes to the overall mission of promoting equal employment opportunities for all in the Hampton Roads community.

Business Services 

PORTCO is an AbilityOne Contractor, actively working with various government contracts across multiple states. We provide a wide range of services to the private sector, as well as to state and local governments and the federal government.

Our dedicated team collaborates with government agencies to provide employment opportunities for individuals from the disabled community, ensuring they can contribute to essential services while gaining meaningful work. 

Mentor-Protege Program

PORTCO is proud to be the principal innovator of the SourceAmerica Mentor Protégé Program (MPP), committed to teaming with larger businesses to create more jobs across the country for disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities. It is our responsibility to provide them with pathways to sustainable employment that enhance their quality of life.

Through strategic partnerships with larger businesses, we work collaboratively to secure contracts for a lifetime that make these dreams a reality. By leveraging these relationships, we empower disabled veterans and individuals to thrive in the workforce, reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and support for those who have given so much for our nation.
