Our Mobile Crews Division

Admission is contingent upon approval by the Employee Screening Committee, which is comprised of the Employment Services Coordinator, HR Manager, ESD Crew Leader or Site Supervisor.

PORTCO DRS Vendorship / Medicaid Waiver

PORTCO, Inc was awarded a Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS) Vendorship and in 2002 a Medicaid Waiver Vendorship to provide employment services to Medicaid Waiver recipients. PORTCO began accepting Medicaid Waiver consumers in early 2003.

Employment Screening Process

The employment screening committee is made up of the ESD (employment services director), HR Manager, ESD Crew Leader or a Site supervisor. All employment applicants are requested to fill out a PORTCO application and submit this application to the HR director.

TASH Association of People With Disabilities

TASH is an international association of people with disabilities, their family members, other advocates, and professionals fighting for a society in which inclusion of all people in all aspects of society is the norm. TASH is an organization of members concerned with human dignity, civil rights, education, and independence for all individuals with disabilities. We have over thirty chapters and members from thirty-four different countries and territories. Since our inception over twenty-five years ago, TASH has gained international acclaim for our uncompromising stand against separatism, stigmatization, abuse and neglect. We actively promote the full inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life. TASH believes that no one with a disability should be forced to live, work, or learn in a segregated setting; that all individuals deserve the right to direct their own lives. TASH ‘s mission is to eliminate physical and social obstacles that prevent equity, diversity, and quality of life.

ESD Program Description

The Employment Services Division is currently divided into two major components: The Packaging Division and the Mobile Crews Division. These programs provide employment training, support and services to adults in the Hampton Roads area with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities.
